In the end, that’s all these 365 short pronunciamentos are meant to be. Truth that you can use.
Some of this is just plain simple advice, drawn from a lifetime’s worth of enthusiastic mistakes on my part. More valuable are the hard-won insights into how individuals and groups of people actually operate out there in the real world, where there is no user’s guide.
Most of these 365 ideas are pretty widely understood, at least by those of us who’ve been around a while. But have you ever noticed how the people making the big important decisions tend to leave these awkward little truths unspoken? Even as yet another project goes off the rails.
That’s why I’ve called them ‘everyday secrets’.
With luck, sharing these observations with other people will help us to change things for the better, bit by bit, because recognising a given problem takes us about 80% of the way towards a solution.
Meanwhile, please do visit the posts, leave a comment, say hello, and let me know if you think I’ve hit the target . . . or shot myself in the foot, instead.
And if you find any of it amusing or worthwhile enough to borrow, why not take a minute to click the “Share this!” link. That way you can send a link to a friend in need or perhaps even a member of your tribe. In fact, that’s exactly how this site came about in the first place, as a way to share some thoughts with a member of my own tribe.
OK, thanks for visiting, and I hope to hear from you in the comments.
